World of Tanks - Another 6 months down the line

World of Tanks does never get bored. The Devs have recently brought so much in the game that keeps it fresh. And so much more to come in the near future.
A quick look at 'my' World of Tanks' and where we stand just before the end of 2012...

Operational Premium Tanks (money makers)

- Dicker Max (D.Max)
The Hummel in TD-style, what a nifty great Tank Destroyer that is. You have to be a bit lucky in what Tier game you get, but if you're in the top tier, this tank is a great asset!
Just keep moving from cover to cover, as the armor rating is not one of the best ones
- T26E4 Super Pershing
What a waste of money (of course my own opinion). Great frontal armor and a decent gun, but hard to manouvre and as slow as a heavy US Tank Destroyer. If this tank had some more speed, it would actually have been a fun tank.
- Lowe
I think I share my Lowe adventures with most Lowe tankers. Great gun, slow speed. There are some really weak armor points in the front, so remember to use it as a support tank. Great tank bringing money in!
- Matilda
The Soviet Matilda, one of my first tanks in this game, and still meets high standards in battle. One of the quickest reload times for medium tanks. This tank gained me many medals, and with its current crew (300%>) one of the most fun tanks to play with. Proud to be the world's number 5 Matilda user!

- KV5
Not available in shop anymore but no reason to sell it from the garage. This is a Tank with capital T! Although the gun is from no significance, the armor of this beast can withstand quite a few shots from ANY tank in the field. As long as they don't hit your weak points (the domes on the front), you are unstoppable. I love this tank when taking the hits while my team takes the objective. My main tank to achieve 'Steel Wall'.
- Type59
Although many times compared to the T-54, I don't think they have nothing in common apart from their looks and that they are both Medium tanks. They have complete different armor specs and different guns. As we are talking about the 59 here, I can say, again a fun tank, mainly because half the hits you get are bounced off. This is a primary tank of 'going  around' and take the arty's out. Again, great money maker!

Personal goal of the game

Like all, I want every tank unlocked (master), but grinding the Russian tree first became boring, as SPG's take a long time, and am not particularly a fan of them. So I have taken another approach.
With the introduction of the horizontal trees, I have decided to work my way down from top to bottom, but the horizontal way. This means I started the US tree on the top (TD line to 110E4).
Currently I am working on the second TD line. Long way to go!

World of Tanks - Upgraded USSR tree, new grinds

After more than a half year being occupied with other things than WOT, a mail from the devs caught my eyes.
They updated the Russian tree, which was something I was looking forward to a year ago. So, no need to say, I am back in the game.
New trees, new goodies etc.
A quick summary of what is new since last year and what the plans are.

What's new:
- Long awaited French tree has arrived
- Camo's now for sale for gold prices
- New game modes
- Plenty of new maps to keep it fresh.
- 2 very interesting premium tanks
- Updated Soviet tree
- New medals and achievements
- New crew specialities

The plan:
2 things, which are getting the Soviet tree completely mastered and getting the crew of the IS4 and the Object 704 to high standards (see how many unlocks you are allowed to use)

More news soon.
I leave you for now with a picture of the new IS8.

World of Tanks - Boelter's Medal received

Boelter's Medal - Awarded for destroying seven or more enemy tanks and self-propelled guns with a tank or tank destroyer, or 10 or more vehicles with a self-propelled gun in one battle. The targets must be at least tier four enemy vehicles.
Hans Boelter was one of the most successful German tank aces of WWII. He participated in operations in the invasions of Poland, France, Greece and the Soviet Union, and the defense of France.

World of Tanks - Matilda first to hit 500 battles

The Matilda is the first tank that has reached the 500 battle mark! It has taken about 33 and a half hours to get to this stage, but this medium Tier 5 has provided me with a lot of XP and cash, no need to state that its crew is the most advanced in the fleet (currently 256%). The crew will be transferred to the T-54 when this medium arrives (hopefully before the end of the year).

The Matilda has killed 456 targets and the enemy number 1 spot is shared by the T-28 and M3. For the stat-fans a few more numbers:

Total XP - 222269
XP average - 444
max XP - 1522
Wins - 243 (48.6%)
Shots - 5321
Hits - 3528 (66.3%)
Spotted enemies - 587
Base capture points - 709
Base defense points - 324

If you have some gold, this is a great purchase to make some money and XP!

World of Tanks - Progress on Russian tree

With the TD-line completed (only the ISU-152 needs the 'Elite'-status), crunching has commenced on the medium and heavy part of the tree. The IS-3 has just been fully fitted (see photo) and the grind towards unlocking the IS-4 has started. With eliting the T-34-85 and the KV-3 we unlocked and bought the T-43, which apart from it's upgraded engine is ready to work towards the T-44. It's a 90k XP grind in a (in my opinion) useless tank. The only part of the Russian tree that is behind is the SPG line. The run is in hands of the little SU-5, if I am not mistaking the 3rd one in line, so a long, long way to go.
It is imperative that I get my hands on the IS-4 as soon as possible, as the Russian tree will be updated, and the IS-4 will be replaced by a newer version, as well as an extra tank (Object 252) with a free slot. For people that are interested in the new tree-changes, I can tell you the KV will be replaced by the KV-1 and when you researched the KV-2 turret on the KV, you also get a free KV-2. The KV-3 is going to move to Tier 7, and people that have one in their garage, will also get the new T-150 for free. Keep coming back for the latest news, or just turn to the WoT official website!

World of Tanks - Object 704 arrived in garage

After a few weeks of grinding, the Soviet top Tank Destroyer Object 704 has arrived in the garage. Immediately the BL-10 and other possible parts were fitted, and after more than 4.000.000 credits spent, the vehicle is battle ready.

As you can see in the picture, a skin has been installed (for local game enhancement). After playing 5 games with this monster, it already states number 2 on the list of average XP per battle. And that is playing with the TD as a newbie. I have high hopes this will be a great investment, and will take out the Maus and E100 on occasion. The crew is the same as the one on the ISU-152. After a retraining they are now active on the Object 704. Also the camo and the binoculars have been demounted from the 152 and fitted on the 704.The ISU-152 is now running with a 50% crew (newly recruited) and without any additional mounted equipment. But will be elited after about an additional 20000 xp (will blog when this is done)

Next grind: IS-4!

(edit.... just killed the first E100, Maus to follow soon)

World of Tanks - Detailed statistics

Most players will know their stats. You can find your stats on the World of Tanks website and even more detailed in-game, where you can see the main achievements of your tanks. But, did you know there is an even more detailed overview available? Well, there is. On this page you can see EVERYTHING (hits/damage/impact/what tanks killed you, which you killed etc etc) you have accomplished. What I really find handy are things like 'average xp per match', as it will tell you what to elite and use it for free XP after. Also it will tell you which tanks you are still missing in your 'kill all tanks'-achievement. And also you can put 2 tanks next to eachother to compare their stats.
The devs do give you all the insight of the game, and that is one of the things I really appreciate in World of Tanks. If you have any other stat-sources, do reply!
